Minimum Requirements:

Important:

You must have Java installed on your computer, and any security software you may have installed must allow Java to run correctly.

To test Java on your computer now, please click the button below.

If Java is installed correctly, you will see a notice similar to this
Test Java

Most Common Problems:
  • I see no video and no chat. I see only RED X's in various places on the chat screen.
    • You don't have JAVA. Get it at http://www.java.com (free!) or try the test above.
    • You have Java, but a security settings on your PC is not letting it run. See above.
    • You are not using Internet Explorer. Please use only Microsoft Internet Explorer when connecting to YouTalkLive.com. If you want to use Firefox instead, you will also need Mediawrap installed to use YouTalkLive.com. Internet Explorer does not require this program.

  • I just get a looping "Connecting" video, but no live video. I cannot type, and E-Wallet balance bar is incomplete. I already updated to the latest version of Java.

A cached Java file used by YouTalkLive.com may be corrupted. You can safely delete it by doing the following:
    • In your task tray, find the Java Control Panel. Right-click to open it.
    • Click on General Tab -> Temporary Internet Files section -> Settings -> Delete Files
    • Click on OK.

  • Chat Works, E-Wallet Balance works, but I still see only a Looping "Connecting" video "commercial" when I try to enter a chat room.
There are several issues that can cause this condition, including:

    • You are behind a Proxy Server, or your service provider is using a transparent proxy associated with your connection to the Internet. / caching server to artificially speed-up your connection. This is especially true of SATELLITE CONNECTIONS. Click here to text for Proxy Servers. If your service provider is using a proxy server for your connection, you can contact them and request a standard, non-proxy connection.

    • Your connection may not be fast enough. You MUST have a high speed DSL connection to the Internet that is at least 200Kb/s for some streams, and 400Kb/s for our HD feeds. Test your connection speed here.

    • The performer's connection may be too slow.
    • Your connection to our streaming server may have failed. Try another chat room.

Video freezing? Improve your Computer's performance!:
  • Video Freezing can be caused by a sluggish computer or internet connection. As your computer receives the video stream, it must be fast enough to decompress that video and display it, up to 30 times every second, on your PC screen. Your Internet connection must be able to receive data fast enough in order to display it. Improve your Computer's performance by doing the following
    • Turn off ALL file-sharing programs like LIMEWIRE, NAPSTER, Etc.
    • Do NOT try to upload or download files while chatting.
    • Close all uncessary programs.
    • Do not use a Wireless connection. Wirless is SLOW and Prone to changes in speed at any second. Switch to a wired connection!
    • If you must use Wireless, turn off WEP Encryption. If you are concerned about security, use MAC Address security instead. (It's not only faster, its much safer too!) Make sure no one is stealing your bandwidth (trust us, its EASIER than stealing candy from a baby).
    • Make sure you have the latest drives for your video card and sound card.
    • Get the latest updates for Windows.
    • Test your ISP's connection speed at DSLReports.com. If your connection is slow, the video quality from YouTalkLive.com will be bad. Call your ISP and demand better speed. (You're paying for it!)

Other things you can check::

Fix your videochat problems.
  • Have you installed another video player recently? If so, its very likely that any new players have changed the File Associations in your computer to make IT the default player. It's an evil practice but unfortunately many programs do this.

What you will need to do is to tell the Windows Media Player that you want IT to play all of your Windows Media video files. Why? Because video sent to your computer arrives in Windows Media Format.

To solve this program, in Windows, click on START / PROGRAMS / WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. Then click on TOOLS / OPTIONS / FILE TYPES and make sure that "Windows Media File (.asf), "Windows Media Audio file (WMA) and Windows Media Video file (.WMV) are all selected. It should look something like this:

If this does not solve the problem, its possible that your copy of Windows Media player has become corrupted. The commercials are in .ASF format, and the live video is in .WMV format. If your computer plays the commercials only and not the live video, it is because WMV support in the player has been lost or corrupted. Try re-installing Windows Media Player by downloading a fresh install from Microsoft here.

Sound Issues:
  • Video works, but I don't hear any sound.
    • Your speakers are not on, or are turned down too low, or .WAV in your sound properties is muted.
    • The chat model is not talking or does not have a microphone. Tell her you want to hear her talk as talking reveals her personality and is big part of what makes her (or anyone) attactive. If the chat model refuses, please report her to us. Seriously! We want to know.

Invalid Use error message:
  • I get an Invalid Use error message when you I to chat or use some pages of YouTalkLive.com. Why I ask you? Why??

    • YouTalkLive.com passes data between pages using HTTP_HOST and HTTP_REFERER. If you are using security programs such as Norton or Zone Alarm, you MUST make a minor change to these programs in order to use YouTalkLive.com.

ZONE ALARM USERS: In Zone Alarm, Select "Privacy"->"3rd Party Cookies". Uncheck "Remove Private Header Info". Click on Apply. It should look something like this

      :
      Remove Private Header Info

NORTON SECURITY PERSONAL FIREWALL: In Norton Personal Firewall, click on "Privacy Control" / Setting for (your account) / Custom Level, and uncheck "Enable Browser Privacy"

YouTalkLive.com uses absolutely no spyware, malicous code or tracking cookies of any kind on your computer. The changes above are safe and do not compromise the security of your computer in any way.
